Fefianist - Carita BeachFefianist - Carita BeachBanten – a little gem in West Java. So happy to be back on the beach again. Believe it or not, the last time I came here was eleven years ago. So when my Mom asked me to spend our weekend here I couldn’t say no, because I really need to escape from Jakarta for a while and I think I deserve a weekend getaway to the beach after quite a stressful moment – proposal thesis defense. Yes, I just passed it a week ago, ooh I’m so happy at least I’ve passed another important test in my final year. Banten is a little town in West Java, it takes 4 hours to reach this town by bus from Jakarta. I came here with my parents and little brother. We arrived here at 10 am.

We were greeted by the warm sunshine, friendly local people and those dreamy blues. I couldn’t wait to say hi to the dancing waves and those charming palm trees. There’s something about being at the beach that’s so healing. I think there’s nothing more beautiful than spending a day off far from the bustling city with family, away from the crowd and having a lovely picnic at the seaside. Oh, this is absolutely a moment to remember.

After we had lunch, I think I need some “me time”, so I spent my whole afternoon wandering alone, soaking up the sun, taking pictures, singing and dancing. Letting go of everything that has been holding me back. I feel so free, happy and loved. Nature helps me to connect with this powerful, loving presence.

“Every time I stand before a beautiful beach, its waves seem to whisper to me: If you choose the simple things and find joy in nature’s simple treasures, life and living need not be so hard” -Psyche Roxas Mendoza
